Love,Lead and Lose Chapter 6. Left Behind

Sasuke's POV:


(Slight Recap) :3

"Alright...You ready Sasuke?" Naruto asked just as we reached the door to the rundown house


"Y-yeah I'm ready Naruto let's just  get what we came for" I responded still a bit nervous

"OK! LETS GO!" Naruto yelled as he kicked in the door
Suddenly Naruto stopped dead in his tracks and turned around with a scared look in his
eyes almost as if he saw death himself waiting.


"Sasuke get out! Everybody run!" Naruto screamed


I looked at him and hesitated a bit before I started running backwards when a sudden light blinded me and everything went dark

-20 MINUTES LATER-


I awoke and found myself laying face down with a warm and wet feeling coming from my head

"Ahh.... damn I'm bleeding...what the hell happened" I said out loud and looked around for Naruto


"Hey is anyone *cough* there?" I yelled out as I got onto my feet


A moment later Kiba and Shikamaru arose from some bushes


"Over here Sasuke!" They said in unison waving to me


I turned and picked up my gun and ran over to them


"Hey guys what happened? Where is everyone else?" I asked as I made sure my gun was still able to fire


"Everyone else went to look for Naruto and or is trying to get Captain Kakashi to bring us some back up to get us out of here" Shikamaru answered with a annoyed look on his face


"W-wait what do you mean look for Naruto and why can't we just leave in the cars we came in?!" I asked starting to panic a little


"Well obviously the house exploded meaning someone knew we were coming  and we don't know if Naruto made it out with you or not" Kiba explained as he looked over at the ruins of the house


"Not only that but odds are everyone in the slum is arming up and heading over here plus its only a matter of time before they find out who we really are and try to kill us" Shikamaru added


"Then we have to hurry and find Naruto I can't.....I mean we can't lose him!" I yelled worrying not sure if Naruto was dead or alive


"I know but we have to make sure Kakashi can come for us too and make sure the gangs out here don't kill us in the process Sasuke" Shikamaru replied


"I know but we have to find Naru-"I tried to say before being cut off


"GUYS!!! WE FOUND NARUTO!! GET OVER HERE AND KAKASHI'S COMEING TOO WERE GETTING OUT OF HERE!!!" Choji yelled out as he ran towards us


I Smiled and ran over to Choji along with kiba and Shikamaru


"We found him he's under the house and from what we can tell he's still alive and the Calvary will be here in around 10 minutes" Choji explained as he took us back to the house where Naruto was


I looked around expecting Naruto to be sitting with a huge smile on his face with everyone else but instead all I saw was TenTen and Temari digging through the rubble where a peach tanned hand was sticking out

My heart sank and I fell to my knees

"W-wait you don't think that's N-Naruto do you..?" I said trying not to cry

"It is but he's alive Sasuke" TenTen said in a comforting tone

"Alright then that means we have to make sure no one sneaks up on us while we try to dig him out" Shikamaru commented

"Yeah Shikamaru is right we have to make sure it's safe to pull him out so we can get out of here" Choji added

"alright well me and Temari will dig Naruto out you guy's cover our backs ok?" Tenten said as she went back to work on the rubble

"A-alright were make sure you guys are safe but please just make sure you get Naruto out quickly or we're all going to end up dead" Kiba stated as he checked his gun

Shikamaru nodded and made us set up a secure line around the dig site

"Hey you guys get Naruto out yet waiting to get shot out here isn't exactly what I had in
mind today" Choji said jokingly trying to lift everyone's spirits

We all gave a small laugh in response and then refocused on the task at hand


"Hey we got him!" Tenten yelled out


"Alright good now we can g-*Gunshot* ahh!" Kiba yelled out in pain


Suddenly a large group of men came out of the north east corner of our position and started shooting at us


"Choji go get kiba everyone else fall back and cover!" Shikamaru yelled over the sound of gunfire


"Come on Kiba hang in there man where you hit?" Choji said as he reached over trying to pick up kiba


"Ahh!! They shot my ass! My ASS!!!" Kiba screamed as he latched onto Choji


"haha come on you big baby let's get out of here" Choji said as he ran over to us and hid with TenTen and Temari


"alright come one Sasuke lets fall back and get Naruto and bail" Shikamaru ordered as we continued firing on the approaching crowd of armed men.


"Right lets go" I answered in agreement as we moved back to regroup with everyone.


I was relieved to see Naruto awake and half way out of the rubble with a small smile on his face


"H-hay guys what I *cough* miss" Naruto said right as he saw us


"No time for jokes Naruto we need to get out now Kakashi should be here in a couple minutes" Temari said trying to pick up Naruto


"Yeah we should really get moving before..b-before ahh!" Naruto yelled in pain as he tried getting up with Temari and fell onto the floor gripping his leg


"Crap I think his leg is broken "Temari said as she picked up her gun and helped us fight off the crowd


"Damn it! I knew coming here would be a drag" Shikamaru added as he reloaded and continued firing


"Haha...Well I guess this is it huh guys? Me with a bullet in my ass and Naruto's broken leg there's no way we can get out of here" Kiba said starting to lose all hope


"No way we're all getting out of here" TenTen exclaimed as she started to shoot along with everyone else


"Aww man guys we better come up for something quick I'm almost out of ammo" Choji said starting to worry


I gritted my teeth and loaded in my last magazine


"Man I can't die here not after finding out Naruto's feelings for me not now and definitely not in this piss hole of a slum" I thought to myself.


Suddenly Naruto sat up and leaned against the broken wall of the house

"Get out of here guys" Naruto groaned out


"W-What?!' I said in response

"I said go everyone run and get out of here!" Naruto ordered


"No way Naruto you can't expect us to just leave you like this!" Temari screamed and sat next to Naruto

"You can't make it out if you carry both me and Kiba and anyways they won't kill me right away...you can always come back and get me so get out of here!" Naruto commanded as he  took Temari's gun from her and waved at around

"Naruto what are you doing!?" Kiba yelled out trying to sit up

"I said go damn it! I won't be held responsible for all of you dying now go!" Naruto yelled as he started to tear up

I crawled over to Naruto and looked up at him but he didn't look back instead he just turned away


"N-Naruto you I can't leave you not after" I tried to say before Naruto looked down at me which made me stop mid sentence

"Go...please everyone go ok I can buy you all time to go so please just go I'll be fine I promise" Naruto said with that huge smile of his

"Alright Naruto but we'll be back for you" Kiba said and passed Naruto his ammo


"alright let's go!" Shikamaru ordered as he picked up kiba

"No wait we can't leave him actually leave him" I protested

"Gaara grab him and go he's not going to leave on his own we have to go or we'll all die" Choji said as he headed to help Shika with kiba


"No N-Naruto please don't do this!" I yelled out as Gaara grabbed my shoulder and dragged me along with everyone else

I couldn't help but look back the entire time as we ran from Naruto and feel my heart start to tear

Soon after we reached the outskirts of the slums with the echoing of a firefight in the background and then as we finally reached we're we would meet Kakashi the echoing stopped and silence replaced it.

"I-It stopped" Shika said as he stopped and turned towards the slum

"You don't think Naruto is.."Kiba added in a trembling voice

"We can't think about that we can only think about surviving so we can come back and rescue Naruto" Gaara said as he let go of my arm

I fell onto my knees and held in my tears

"We'll be back for you Naruto...I promise" I said to myself

"Hay look over there It's Kakashi and the backup team!" Choji yelled out as he pointed at 3 armored trucks

"Come one everyone up lets go" Temari said as she put her arm around me and helped me on my feet

Just as the trucks pulled up and stopped Kakashi jumped out along with Neji and Hinata and the rest of team Kunai

"Alright load in move move move!" Kakashi said as he looked us all over eager to get us out of there

Suddenly a group of men popped out from where we left the slum and started to fire at us

"Incoming!" Neji yelled as he and the rest of team Kunai's backup fired letting us get inside safely

The doors closed and Kakashi hopped into the driver seat and looked back at us as he turned on the truck

As he started to drive off his eyes shot open in shock as he looked back at us and realized Naruto wasn't with us

"Where the hell is Naruto!?!" Kakashi screamed in a pissed off tone

No one answered we only looked down until Shikamaru looked Kakashi dead in the eye

"We left him..." Shikamaru answered

"YOU DID WHAT!?!" Kakashi screamed as he stopped the trucks and hopped out walking towards
the back and opened up the double doors.

"Care to run that by me again!!" Kakashi said obviously pissed off as hell

"K-kakashi now's not the best time to-" Temari tried to intervene

"SHUT UP!" Kakashi yelled out and stared at Shikamaru

"We left Naruto behind...He had a broken leg and Kiba was hit...It was Naruto's Idea he stayed behind to save all of us Captain.." Shikamaru responded regretting leaving Naruto behind

Suddenly the Captains radio started buzzing

"Captain *static* We need to move we're sitting ducks out here *static* What's the hold up?! *Gunfire* We need to move these guys are starting to bring out the big guns we need to get out of *explosion* "

"Don't worry we're leaving now just hold on back there" Kakashi responded and headed back into the driver seat and we headed off again

"I want a full report a DETAILED report on what the hell went wrong as soon as we get back alright Shikamaru." Kakashi said but suddenly stopped mid sentence

The door to the back of the truck was still open and as we left we saw a ragged bloody blond hop out of house with his arms swinging in the air as he hopped around trying to get our attention

"NARUTO!!!!!" I screamed

"KAKASHI STOP THE DAMN TRUCK!!" Gaara yelled out

"I can't if we stop now we'll be torn to pieces " Kakashi said obviously torn by his decision

All of our hearts sank and felt nothing but guilt as we continued off and stared at Naruto.

We could hear him yelling and screaming telling us no...more like begging us to stop and wait that he managed to get out.

I couldn't hold it in any longer hearing Naruto beg like that pushed me over the edge and

I finally broke down into tears.

I looked back at Naruto until he was out of sight and then turned away and noticed I wasn't the only one crying. Everyone had tears in their eyes everyone could feel the guilt and regret of our decision to leave Naruto and go through with his plan.


"Don't worry everyone Naruto can *cough* can take care of himself He'll be fine and it's only a matter of time before we are able to get back here and bring him home just have faith" Kakashi said trying to reassure us.

We all nodded and looked at each other

"Right then it's settled we're coming back for Naruto as soon as we regroup and get reorganized for a rescue mission." Kakashi added

I let out a small smile and thought to myself

"Naruto...We're coming back for you stay alive please..I'll be back for you."
